The village of Marinella is one of the oldest part of Sapri and is the historical center of the town. It is located behind the Chiesa dell’Immacolata. Its structure consists of buildings of two levels and narrow alleys of access. Its conformation, in fact, has generated over time, to associate the alleys with names. In the neighborhood, life is quiet, also thanks to the presence of the small streets that sometimes do not even allow the passage of cars. From Marinella starts the procession in honor of San Vito. The statue of the Saint is exhibited for a week in the Church of the Immaculate and is then brought on June 15 until the “Pozzo”, place where the saint is believed to have made the miracle of bringing back the drinking water to the city.
